Design and Slice New Section for Ecommerce Site

We Just move to our new site and sales have gone down about 30% since we move to our new site. we are thinking it is because no one can find our categories easily. What we are wanting to do is move the left hand bar of our site to the right hand side. Bring our products in the middle down to 3 columns from 4 (this is just cms setting) and add in a new column to the left to display our categories. We have a lot of categories (like 50) so that is why we designed current menu, but it is not working.
