A detailed text-based baseball simulation of a fictional league where participants assume the roles of team owner, general manager, and coach. As such, participants are concerened with earning money, assembling talent, and winning games.

## Deliverables

The league would consist of 30 teams: 16 teams in the National league, and 14 teams in the American league, with three divisions per league; West, Central, and East. Every team has a major league roster, and a minor league roster, with 25 players allowed at each level. Rosters can expand to a total of 60 during the off-season.

Like MLB, teams would play a 162 game regular season schedule. Regular season games would occur on both the major, and minor league level, with minor league opponents mirroring the major league opponents. Major league teams would also have a post-season schedule. There would be four games per day, seven days per week. There would be a total of three weeks off between seasons, one week of no official activities, FA signings taking one week, and the draft taking another week.

The programme would create a play-by-play account of the game, which participants could read, as well as a box score. The p-b-ps would be saved for one calendar day, but the box scores would be saved for an entire season.

Players would be generated by the programme. Player development would mirror that of real life athletes, ie., improving up to a certain age, plateau for a number of years, then begin to deteriorate, on a randomized basis. Players would go through spring training prior to each season. Players could improve after camps, during the course of a season, and at the conclusion of a season. Ideally, a participant could select specific aspects of a player's game where he hopes to see improvements during camps.

While the programme would automatically assign a position to a player it has created, owners could change a player's position based on where he thinks a player will play the best, based on the player's attributes.

Teams would draft, and have a free agent signing period prior to each season. The financial demands of the players would be determined by the programme based on the overall skill of the player.

Owners could also trade players, draft picks, and cash, amongst themselves.

Players would be evaluated by their historical statistics, compiled on an ongoing basis, as well as having numerical values assigned along a range of attributes that relate to a player's talents for specific aspects of the game. As an example, an outfielder whom had a strong throwing arm would be rated a 10 in that category. Players would be given an overall score out of 100.

Owners would have to field a team within the constraints of a budget. Budgets can increase or decrease from season-to-season, based on a number of variables. Thesed would have to be fleshed out through e-mail.
