Add a vectorized freehand drawing tool to the attached bezier drawing application.

Like in Illustrator, the tool should follow the line drawn by the user, then calculate a vectorized/optimized bezier shape (using control points and anchor points) to fit that line using the least number of points. The points must fit in with the existing geometry model used by the application.

The way I see it, once invoked, the function captures the user input (user clicks and drags within the drawing area or "canvas"). When the mouse is released, the sequence of points are placed in an array. The straight lines are easy. Take 3 consecutive points... if point 1 to point 3 represents a straight line through point 2, you can splice point two out of the array. Loop through the array until you've thrown out all such points. Now you have your straight lines and you have to optimize the curves. Connecting the straight lines to the curves and optimizing the curves is where my math skills aren't up to the task.

Basically, there's a draw/redraw function that takes the shape information (anchor points, control points, line and fill specifications) and draws it on the canvas. It handles all the various shapes the tool draws because they all conform to the shape model. You should not need to change that function at all.

You'll create a tool button for invoking the tool, then functions for capturing the user input and converting it into the shape and adding into the shape objects array.

I can provide some insight into the coding structure and shape model if you need.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

The code may use existing drawing functions, but should not require significant adjustment of them.

Aside from delivering an FLA with your code incorporated, you must document your changes in a text doc and comment your code blocks so that they can be easily found and extracted.

This app is nearly 4 years old, written in Actionscript 1.0 and targeted to Flash Player 6. The code you create must run under those parameters.
