I wish to build for myself a website to house my various stories and other literary materials for public consumption. I would like the website to be flash based, beginning with an introduction of music and images (both all-ready created) that would play for half a second before revealing the page (and would continue to play until the user selected a link). On the page itself, I would have my name across the top, "Samuel Butcher", with a space in the middle for an image. Below my name would be seven links: -About -Fiction -Non-Fiction -Blog -Forum -Store -Contact The "about" section would simply direct to a page with basic biographical information. The "blog" to a blog (preferably open source hosted on the site), likewise the "forum" to a forum. The "Store" would take users to a Paypal front where they can "pay as you go" for any of my works, as well as purchase some other items, and the "contact" would be for various different groups, fans, literary agents, journals etc. to contact me. For the "fiction" and "non-fiction" sections, I would like, when the user clicks on the tab, for the flash on the page to bring forward two old time looking books (titled "Prose" and "Poetry" respectively for the fiction, "Essays" and "Memoirs"). When a user then clicked on whichever book, I would like that volume to fill the page and "open" to a table of contents (the paper inside being that oldish, yellow, smokey kind of paper) where the user can choose a story or a poem, what have you. When the user then chooses a story, I would like for the pages on the book to flip, presenting them with the story, allowing them to, as the story advances, "flip" the page of the book. When the story ends I'd like a link to the storefront, where they can download the story at whatever price they like. I would prefer that these sections, the Fiction and Non-Fiction, be easily edited, preferably by uploading .txt files of new work to the existing catalog. I would like the website to be primarily in black and white (particularly my name as the title banner) with the link section in a dark red, though I am open to suggestions for aesthetics.
