[login to view URL] is a great GIS tool but I would like to build a proto-type for using it as an online CAD tool (minus the advanced GIS functions) for uploading DXF drawings and using the online drawing functions of cartoweb ([login to view URL]) and extending it a little more.. the scope will cover the following
1- Adding a DXF file upload function that will convert the file from DXF to postgis and upload the drawing with a unique user_id and drawing_id tag added to it.. this step will require re-writing this windows app into linux command line

2- loading the new drawing in cartoweb.. this step will require some minor modification to the MAP file to properly indicate the drawing limits coordinates
3- the default demoEdit function include adding points, lines and polygons.. we require the ability to draw a point.. add certain parameters and draw an isosceles triangle (2 equal sides and angles) based on the entered parameters and starting from the point drawn.. parameters will be (start angle and the rest shown here [login to view URL])
The point will be inserted to the database together with the other parameters and the triangle will be drawn with the "outline" so the actual triangle doesnt get stored in postgis but rather drawn on the spot based on the starting point (the point) and the other parameters..
This will be a proof of concept for a bigger project that can be launched based on the success of the above..
