I'm planning to purchase an article management? script? (uses PHP and MySQL) called ArticleLive...
I? would like to? use ArticeLive to develop a content site where some? articles are entirely free, and other "premium" articles have a? free "teaser" summary, but to read the complete articles a site? membership must be purchased.?
The problem is that? ArticleLive does not create physical directories. It looks that way, but is an emulation using htaccess. Therefore I am unable to create password-protected directories? for the premium content.?
So, what I am looking for is to have the script customized such that all the script's features and functionality remain available? expect that I can create a physical directory for the premium content.
Please explain basically? how the customization would work with the ArticleLive script and if it will cause any of the existing features/functionality to not work.
Also, please comment on how updates to the ArticleLive script would be handled i.e. Interspire? does updates to the script 1-2 times per year -- I want to be able to get the updates? but without compromising the custom directory work that you would do.
Please Note:
1) I *don't* need a membership management script created as I plan to use an off-the-shelf? one (<[login to view URL]>) for the password protected directories. I simply need the directory customization as described above.
2) Experience working with ArticleLive or familiarity with the script is prerferred, but not essential.
Thank you.
