Looking for a smart, server-based application that will run SERP checks on the big 5 Search Engines & Backlink counts nightly, for all the URLs I tell it to watch. It must then Chart this information for me on a graph so I can watch the Trends, securely on my own server.

## Deliverables

I don't want much, really, just to have fresh SERP and Backlink data that is Charted graphically. Is this really too much to ask the SEO professional world?

Apparently so. I've been told that I have to go and build such an app, so here we are.

I'd like to log into my secure server site and be presented with fresh data that is never any older than last night's CRON jobs. It should be pretty simple, Down the left hand (first) column will be the URLs to the pages I plug in an "add Url" form somewhere.

The second column will be the keyword I've assigned to that url, and with those two bits of information, your script will get me fresh data daily.

The next three columns are just simple numbers... Google, Yahoo, and Alexa's # of backlink counts.

The last 5 columns are SERP ranking numbers, for Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and Ask.

All of the numbers on this page, however, can be clicked on to bring up a charted graph of that number's history. So for instance, if the main page shows 32 Yahoo backlinks, I can click on the number 32 and a pop-up graph will appear that shows the history of my Yahoo backlinks plotted back as far as we have data for. -Like as stock chart.

Additionally, that graph window should have time period controls in it so I can change the amount of time the graph is plotted for.

Finally, I'd also like to have a graph that plots ALL 8 numbers at once for any given url. -A master graph, so I can spot long-term trends. (Yes, backlinks and SERP postitions overlapped somehow. Be creative.)

About the search engines' pesky query limits, I assume I can use an API key to get at least 1000 searches done a night, so I figure that I can track up to 500 URLs... Is this correct? I don't plan on tracking that many but I'd like to hear from you what you feel the limit is.

Also, keep in mind that it is paramount that these searches need to be run from my SERVER's IP address, not my local IP. I already push my local queries to the limit as it is. :)

If you need more details, feel free to ask me.

Some great resources for you to check out if you are curious about SERP checks and Backlink checks are WebCEO's (free) pagerank checker tool, [url removed, login to view], and linkdiagnosis.com. -Those tools all have parts that I find very useful, but nothing is automated, nothing is secure, and worst of all, nothing charts their data in a useful way. -Nor together.

This ought to be a really fun app that you'll want to use yourself one day. (Unless you never plan to own your own website.) Please let me know your time quote as well as your project price quote.
