***What I need Done:***
I have a requirement for wanting certain data copied from one database to another database on a nighlty basis. Both database are SQL Server Databases. However one of the SQL Server databases can only be connected to using a Third Party OLEDB Provider . This is an ACT CRM database from Sage and the only way to connect to it with thrid party applications is to use the OLEDB provider they have.
There are 4 sets of data that need to be copied. I will provide the 4 SQLS statemets to extract the data from the sopurce database.
The extracted data then needs to be pumped into a SQL Server database to which full access is granted. How the data gets there is not a problem (either BCP, Insert Statements etc).
Each time time data is pumped all previous data should be deleted.
The main requirement is to make this automated so that it can run on a nighlt basis using Windows Scheduler or the applications own internal scheduler. Which ever is easiest. If it can produce log files of the data inserts that would be good too to spot any potential problems. There does not need to be a GUI, it can be a background application, provided that some output is provided.
The source and destination databases should be editable by providing a connection string either through a config file or through the app.
This should be a fairly simple application for a developer to write, i will provide the SQLS to extract the data, provide the SQLS for inserting the data. I just need someone to package it all up together and make an automated application for it. Each time the SQLS run all relevant data will be exported and each time that data is imported into the destination database, the previous data in the destination database will be deleted.
Other context/requirements that providers will need to know:
On completion of the project the source code will be owned by me. This is a fairly urgent requirement as i need a solution within a few days.
There is no need to know the database structure or about ACT as i have done the inital investigation work. The only thing that will be required is to change the timeout settings for the ACT connection to be larger than the default.
It's a fairly basic project and i have a low budget.
Remote access to the test system can be provided if necessary
