Overview You are to act as the network administrator for a SME that manufactures high specification IT systems for which it also provides support. Additionally the company also provides training for customers in its own training suite. In addition to those working in the main office the company also employs UK sales people who primarily work out of office but who need to be able to communicate with other employees using a secure Email system and to be able to access company fileservers (which must remain secure from the general public). They also occasionally visit the main UK office and when doing so need to be able to access the network directly. All work done by the sales team us done using company supplied and configured laptops. While the company is based in the UK it has two international remote offices, one in the USA and the other in Canada with whom there is a requirement to host video conferences both in a dedicated suite and via desktop conferencing. The sales team in these remote offices need to be able to access the companies Email system (using a web interface) but not the file servers. In the UK the company uses the domain [login to view URL], in the USA & Canada it is widgetsareus.com. and [login to view URL] respectively. For the .[login to view URL] domain the company has 64 sequential static IP addresses and 4 each (again sequential) for the .com & .ca ones. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). The task The company is in the process of moving to a new building; the building is a new build (with rooms laid out as required by the company) but as yet has no network infrastructure of any type (phone/data etc). It is your job to specify • The quantity & location of phone points on a by floor/room basis • Location and type of network points required • How each floor is to be wired • What equipment is to be used for the network backbone • An approximate cost for the network installation • What servers are to be installed in the building • How the servers are to be protected • The security requirements for the network • How the changeover is to be implemented to minimise disruption Plus any other factors you think would be necessary to ensure the project runs smoothly. In order that you can complete this task you have been provided with floor plans of the building and a brief overview of the work carried out on each floor. You are welcome to mark up these plans as part of your coursework submission indicating what & where you would plan to put data points, switches etc. Building use by floor. Ground floor The ground floor has the reception area, goods received & dispatch areas. The power and data feeds into the building are also located on this floor. Floors 1 ??" 3 Workshops, no fixed locations for internet enabled devices Mobile phones primarily used but a few static ones will be needed Floors 4 ??" 6 Flexible office space ??" all open plan Hot desking by company employees working in the building (using static PCs) and also visiting sales team members using laptops Printers are in fixed to locations Floor 7 Two conference rooms (video conference in 1) in which Visitors in can use the internet on their own devices but access the not private network (company staff people can use private network). There are also a number of private offices PC, own printer, own phone Floors 8 Server room and IT support suite. IT reps use laptops; they do sit at their own desk but do make house calls within the building. Floors 9 ??" 12 These floors are not currently used but need to remain flexible (but will NOT be workshop space). There is a possibility that these floors my be sublet to other people in which case the network on these floors needs to become separate to the main building one. Floor 13 Research lab with internet enabled equipment ## Platform i will support you with all the documents you will need to help me designing this network and the floor plan is also available with all measures included
