I need to get a Infrared Temperature Sensor hooked up to a 2 1/16" gauge to show the reading, would need to have a a few feet of cable as the sensor would be in a different location and not right beside the gauge. also the gauge would need to display the tempature well the unit is on which could be for multiple hours at a time and if the gauge reading got to hot or over a desired degree it would start to flash a light as a warning. more info will be given as needed

wouldnt it be easier to just use a digital form of reading? I mean I know a gauge looks awesome, but a bar graph isnt all that bad, depending on the temperatures you are talking about, we could even use the microcontrollers internal temp sensor to sense the temperature too. why infrared to read temperatures? are you avoiding contact? or is it a moving heat source?
