Backup a Website Via SSH

Hi there,
I have a wordpress site with two installs hosted ona competitors site.
The client wants to move the site to by hosting environment. The exisiting host will only give us SSH access and no access to cpanel or similar. The wordpress site will not backup via the admin interface either.
I need someone who is familiar with SSH to backup the site(s) and databases and help me transfer them to my new server where you will have control panel (not cpanel but eXtend) and ftp access etc to set up the sites.
I need this actioning asap, so please only respond if you are able to act immediately.
