Greetings, sir. Although you said that you own a football site, you didn't mention which one is it, but if it's similar to 442 or worldsoccer, then it must be good. Well, I would like to suggest to turn some of my remarks into ideas. Football sites usually don't have, or have ultra small amount, humor in their articles. I think I could help in that sphere. They tend to be strictly informative and that's usually it. But putting some quality humor throughout the articles could really inject some fresh blood, smiles and curiosity of your (potential) readers. Further, maybe it would be good to add up some sections like mentioning some old legendary players and what have they achieved, comparing them in some special fields, make them live once again and let readers be also involved in some way, maybe by voting or simply letting them to express themselves in given situation. Maybe hire a caricaturist to draw some of those crazy ideas, for example, that goal of Ryan Giggs in '99 against Arsenal. It would be funny and cool to see it done like caricature, faces of defenders, Giggsy's abnormal chest hair etc. I am a songwriter by the way and I could provide you with some nice and funny lyrics on some given subject regarding some event, player of club, manager etc. There we go, some brainstormed ideas out of nowhere. Dear Sir, I work for one huge international organization and they policy is to send their staff to quality international trainings. The last one I attended was about information storage and management. In other words, those websites who can display "enough" information to their readers will be the most viewed. But, what is enough ? Buy their definition, enough is more than you can briefly read in 15 seconds, but less then getting lost in the sea of unclassified information. Therefore, I would suggest a drop-down menu for the main headlines. No more than four, with a big picture and a tittle. When you go over the picture with your cursor, then it can display a bit more main information, but not all since the reader needs to hit "read more". I understand marketing side of running the website and how much "hits" are important. My second suggestion for you is to have your columnist/opinion on the right side of your webpage. If you put only a title "Columnist" in your Menu, then usually that's not what attracts readers. But if you put their name, small picture and an attractive title on the head page, then one will be attracted to read more about his/her favorite game/team/player. Create a page that lists the Television channel and time for each game in the league, the tv channel and time should be displayed in the user's local time zone and should display the tv networks that are carrying the game in the user's local market. 2. Keep a running total of all stats for the league, update these stats live during the play of the matches. Use stats such as assists, goals, bookings, etc. 3. Feature some video content, not necessarily from the league itself because of copyrights but at least some exclusive video content produced by the site itself. Content such as Topics of the Week or weekly segments such as Transfer Talk which would cover recent transfers or have debates featuring passionate fans. 4. YOU MUST feature a live version of the league table somewhere on your site. 5. Provide a fantasy league for your site such as a user gets 11 players to a team and they go head to head against an opponent every week until the end of the season and the top team wins.
