Custom AnyChart - Sankey/Waterfall Design

I am working on a project with a lot of graphs and charts, and with one in particular I need a little help. I am not sure how best to describe it, I have been calling it a sankey/waterfall chart, you can see in the screenshot attached what I am referring to.
The chart shows political candidate debates year by year. You should be able to click on a year band and see a breakdown of the debates and locations, like in 2010.
The chart should be written in Javascript with an external JS theme and handle a JSON for the values.
I am using AnyChart so I'd like to work with someone who is familiar with this library.
