I have already had a developer create a fully functional Spotify App that recreates the functionality of my website, www.PlaylistHQ.com. Spotify said the app is great but that it needs to be polished. I need someone to polish the app so that Spotify accepts it. You will receive payment after approval when the app appears in their app store.
Here was the response from Spotify after the first submittal:
Hello Quinn,
Removing superfluous UI elements is a component of good design, but not the limit of it. I'm sorry if this sounds vague, but in order to point out in detail exactly what is lacking with the concept in terms of interaction design and graphical design, we'd more or less have to redesign the concept ourselves. Unfortunately, we have limited resources to do this type feedback even though we'd very much would like to.
Seeing as you seem quite insistent on doing this app, have you considered doing it as a libspotify app instead? You could for example enhance your current website using the [Hallon library][1] (depending on what it is written in, of course). We're not required to do QA on apps that are not actually presented inside the Spotify client (although you'd still have to follow legal requirements, naturally).
Best regards,
Henrik Eneroth
