Choose a national or state-wide government campaign from a country of your choice in the last 24 months (other than Singapore), the specific issue targeted by the campaign, and discuss how the campaign is reflective of that particular country’s culture and history. You can consider examining the language, imagery, messaging (if relevant) used in the campaign, as well as discuss how the country has addressed that specific issue in previous government campaigns. Also, do note that choosing a non-English speaking country or foreign-language government campaigns (i.e., not in English) might hinder your research efforts and comprehension of the materials/resources (e.g., official government reports). You should examine the government campaign using a public relations/communication perspective. In your essay, you must draw on the unit readings and materials (especially when they are relevant to your topic). A minimum of 10 references is required. Please note that what constitutes a “government campaign” can be open to interpretation and you can discuss your choice with your lecturer. Example of government campaigns can include those dealing with smoking, road safety, immunisation, mental health, social inclusion, disability, education, mask-wearing during COVID-19, environmental protection, or water conservation.
