Context: I have an application that uploads binary data files (*.mf4) to an Amazon AWS S3 bucket (ce2-lambda-test). When the data is uploaded to this bucket, I want a Lambda function to process the uploaded file into CSV format (using an existing “mdf2csv” executable) and add the resulting CSV to an output bucket (ce2-lambda-test-out).
I am able to set up the Lambda, buckets, criterias etc. - what I need help with is the deployment package and the Python code.
Below is a basic example of how the code works “locally” on Windows. It’s very simple - simply load an “[login to view URL]” test file to create an output CSV file named “[login to view URL]”.
To move this to AWS Lambda, there will be the need to fetch the key of the uploaded file, which is included in the sample script (commented out). Further, the script lacks the part of loading the subprocess in the AWS Lambda context. Here, the trick will probably be that AWS Lambda is a linux environment. Therefore the zip also includes a Linux compatible CSV converter, which may be possible to use.
The end output of this project should be a zipped deployment package that I can upload on my end and verify works. The package should include the relevant Python code and executable.
When bidding, please let me know your experience with AWS Lambda and S3. If you provide good work and pricing, I have plenty more projects like this.
