Using the business case (next page), you need to complete the following requirements: 1. Using Visio or any other drawing software, draw an ERD, describing attributes, entities, relationships and cardinalities (e.g. one-to-one, one-to-many) of the database used to support the operations of the business described in the case. The ERD should identify all primary keys and foreign keys. Create the data dictionary for your database. To do this, you can use the template that can be accessed from the link below: [login to view URL] ¬ You must hand in a single WORD file that includes the following: • ERD diagram embedded (e.g. Visio Diagrams) • Data dictionary created in an Excel file embedded • Note: ERD diagrams in native formats will not be accepted Business Case: Toronto General Hospital (TGH) has hired you to design a database for its patients' drug dispense. TGH's Database will keep track of the following: • For each patient we keep track of a unique patient identifier, patient birthdate, gender, patient name (which is composed of the patient's first and last names) and the patient age which is derived from patient birthdate. • For each nurse, we will keep track of a unique nurse ID and the nurse name. • For each ingredient we will keep track of the unique ingredient identifier and the ingredient name. • For each drug we will keep track of a unique drug ID, the drug name and the drug coating type. • A nurse can administer drugs to patients. When a drug is administered to a patient, the database should keep track of date and the time the drug was administered and the drug's name with the quantity that was administered. • Each ingredient must be contained in at least one drug, but it may be contained in many drugs. Every drug can contain many ingredients, but they must contain at least one. For every instance of an ingredient contained in a drug we will keep track of the dosage of the ingredient in the drug. • A drug may contradict several other drugs if they are taken at the same time, but a drug does not have to contradict any other drugs. A drug may be contradicted by many other drugs, but it does not have to be contradicted by any. You are required to draw an ERD for the database that should satisfy the requirements above.
