I have Final IK installed in Unity as I type this. I've been using it in my own project (mostly Aim IK). From your project description, it sounds like you are referring to the demo scene "Interaction Pick Up 2-Handed". This is the scene that shows two humanoids, one with a sphere and the other a box to pick up. Can you tell me more of what you mean about "pick up" "in any direction"?
