Mesh Segmentation for CT and MRI images

Hi, I've made a few projects on medical images processing, including dental xray analysis, implants detection and modelling, Dicom viewer, brain tumors detection, 3D (STL) files generation and modelling, stl viewer (multi objects), 3D reconstruction from dicom slices for some special cases. Dicom viewer and tumors detection are available as separate demos. 3D generation from Dicom files is based on following steps: 1) Edges detection on single slices, finding nearly parallel and close edges in adjacent slices 2) Analysis of areas background structure, to approve joining of inner edges areas 3) Collect 3d segment surface points. 4) Finding surface points, having the most flexure to optimize final mesh 5) Build primary mesh and then reduce common size for flat spots. What is a purpose of your job - simply view 3D models, or detect some diseases, 3D printing, or something else ?
