We are producing a new infomercial for an existing, successful pain relief product, and we are looking for a freelance coordinator to take the existing database of product users, and find up to 50 people that we can initially qualify, to then ultimately select 20 to 25 to be recorded for the new show. So we need every on-camera story to come from real users of the product, not actors reading a script. Your job is to find these genuine voices, guide them through the approval process, and deliver camera-ready testimonials that fit our creative brief. What you’ll do • Review existing database and reach out to users who might be interested and willing to share their experience with the product. • Assist the show director in preliminary interviews of the interested participants to select the final 20 to 25 people to be recorded. • Coordinate scheduling, release forms, and any needed prep calls with the production team. • Be available for remote recordings/shoot days to ensure testimonial participants are present and ready to do their testimonials We are looking to start this project in mid to late August and anticipate approximately 2 months to narrow down the finalists, and another month to complete the interviews. This is a freelance job so you can be handling other jobs as long as performance on this job meets our objectives.

The approach is straightforward: I'll audit the existing user database to spot genuine product advocates, ensuring authentic testimonials align with the infomercial creative brief. Coordinating with the director, I'll conduct preliminary interviews to qualify the top candidates, finalizing 20 to 25 for shooting. Handling scheduling, release documentation, and prep calls will be systematic to keep production timelines intact. Remote presence during recordings will guarantee participants are prepped and camera-ready. How do you envision the style of the on-camera testimonials influencing participant selection?

This is about finding the real people with real stories for the infomercial, so it’s less about a database and more about understanding how to talk to people who have used the product, and getting them comfortable sharing that. I would start by setting up a screener survey, maybe using Typeform or Google Forms, looking for users who had specific results and are enthusiastic, this gets initial buy-in and flags the best candidates fast. Then I’d move onto phone calls with those flagged, using a script built from the infomercial’s creative brief to gauge their comfort on camera and their story’s fit, also checking their availability. The director needs people who can deliver on camera, so the early filtering is key, and that’s where the User Experience Research part comes in, figuring out what makes a good story and a willing participant. I’d build out the outreach process from the database with a CRM like HubSpot or Pipedrive, tracking who I’ve contacted, their responses, and follow-ups. The database is the starting point, so understanding the product’s claims and how users might have benefited is the first step. I’d build the qualification process first, that needs to be solid before outreach ramps up. What is the ideal length of these testimonial segments for the infomercial? Preferred Freelancer here, and I have not missed a deadline or gone over an agreed price yet. I can set up a quick call on Freelancer to go over the specific criteria for user selection and confirm the timeline for initial outreach.

Hi there! Quick question - when you're reaching out to existing users, do you have preferences on geographic location, or will you be open to remote participants from anywhere? Regardless, this is definitely something that I feel confident delivering on, given my past experience. I would love to discuss your project further! Looking forward hearing from you. kind regards, Corné
