Proxmox/Network Configuration on Hetzner for a Failover IP

I do have a dicated server on Hetzner with Proxmox installed on it.
Along with the server there are also multiple "standard" IPs, which are used for VMs.
One particuallary is for the load-balancer, which is handling web traffic to other VMs with non-public IP addresses.
Simplified traffic flow:
User --> Load Balancer VM with Public IP --> Target VM with non-public IP
This setup works fine, but I'm planning to add a second server as a replica of the main server.
To avoid switching IP addresses for all domains on the DNS side, I would like to make use of a Failover IP.
Failover Ips seems to be handled differently at Hetzner (compared to the standard additional Ips, which can have own MAC addresses etc.).
The Failover IP is pointing to the main IP of the server, but I would like to route it to the load-balancer VM.
Aim is not to do only port forwarding e.g. via iptables.
Who can help in setting up this network/routing to point the Failover IP to a VM in Proxmox.
