# Job Description: Senior ERP Functional Consultant (Machinery, Dry Cleaning & Universal SaaS Architecture) **Position Type:** Consulting / Advisory (Short-Term / Hourly) **Experience Required:** Strictly 15+ Years in ERP Implementation & Business Process Mapping ## Executive Summary We are engineering **Bomax**, a revolutionary, multi-tenant Base SaaS ERP designed to handle intense data volumes with "Tally-like" ultra-high speeds. Our development team is ready to build, but before a single line of code is written, we need a veteran **ERP Functional Consultant & Subject Matter Expert** to validate and design our business logic, database structure, and operational workflows. This is **not** a coding role. We need an architect who has spent over 15 years implementing heavy-duty ERPs (like SAP, MS Dynamics, or Odoo). You will map out the exact standard industry practices and database relationships we need to build a single core engine that simultaneously powers the **Heavy Machinery** industry and the **Dry Cleaning/Laundry** industry. ## The Core Architectural Challenges ### 1. The Multi-Tier SaaS Architecture Our system must seamlessly scale through four distinct business operational models using the exact same underlying codebase. You will validate the tenant data routing for: * **Single User / Single Store:** A standalone owner-operator. * **Multi-User / Single Location:** Role-based access (cashiers, managers, technicians) operating within one facility. * **Multi-Branch / Corporate:** Centralized inventory and consolidated financial reporting across multiple locations owned by the same entity. * **Franchise Model:** Strict data isolation between independent franchise owners, while allowing the Super Admin/OEM to push global settings, track royalties, and manage centralized supply chains. ### 2. The "Universal" Production Module We are building a single, highly decoupled production engine that must work across distinct industries. * **The Logic:** The underlying code for the production pipeline must be identical. Only the "Department Names" or "Processing Stages" will change dynamically based on the industry setup. * **Your Task:** Design a universal Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking and stage-routing architecture flexible enough to handle the complex Bill of Materials (BOM) assembly of an industrial machine, *and* the fast-paced washing/pressing stages of a centralized dry-cleaning plant using the exact same database tables. ### 3. The Machinery, Spares & Field Service Flow You will map the exact operational workflows for the heavy equipment lifecycle, including: * **Import & Distribution:** Multi-Currency ledgers and automated Landed Cost calculations (freight, customs, duties) for imported machinery. * **Visual Cataloging & Cross-Referencing:** Structuring parent-child database relationships linking a specific machine model to hundreds of compatible spare parts via Serial Numbers and Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPN). * **Field Service & Warranties:** The operational flow for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), tracking warranties by serial number, and dispatching engineers who consume spare parts from van inventory. ### 4. The Dry Cleaning & Laundry Flow You will map the high-volume retail and operational logic for the garment care industry: * **High-Speed POS & Ticketing:** Workflows for rapid garment intake, condition/defect logging, and barcode/QR tag generation. * **Store-to-Plant Logistics:** The routing logic for multi-branch storefronts sending garments to a central factory for processing, and tracking their return delivery. ## Candidate Requirements * **15+ Years Minimum Experience:** You must have extensive, hands-on experience designing and implementing complex ERP solutions. * **Cross-Industry Versatility:** You must deeply understand both heavy manufacturing/distribution and high-speed retail/service operations. * **System Agnostic Insight:** We are building our own system from scratch. You must be able to explain *how* top-tier ERPs solve these problems so we can replicate the logic in our own high-speed architecture. ## How to Apply: Tell Us What We Need Do not just send a generic resume. To be considered for this consultation, please reply with a brief assessment of our blueprint: 1. **The Multi-Tier Challenge:** How do you structure the database to allow a central Super Admin to view consolidated analytics across a Franchise network, while ensuring individual Franchise owners absolutely cannot see each other's customer data or spare parts inventory? 2. **The Universal Production Challenge:** Based on your experience, what is the biggest database challenge in building a single production module that serves the assembly of a heavy machine and the dry cleaning of a suit just by changing department names? 3. **The Machinery Challenge:** Walk us through the standard ERP workaround for accurately tracking the landed cost of an imported machine when the customs and freight invoices arrive 30 days *after* the machine is already sold. 4. **Your Background:** Briefly list the relevant ERP implementations you have led in the last 15 years.

Hi! This is the kind of ERP architecture work I enjoy. I've led SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo, and custom ERP implementations across manufacturing, distribution, field service, and retail. 1) I'd use strict tenant isolation with a Tenant ID + Organization hierarchy, RBAC, and row-level security, while exposing only aggregated analytics to the Super Admin. 2) The biggest challenge is designing a universal event-driven WIP model where stages are metadata, not hardcoded workflows. 3) Landed costs should be posted as provisional estimates, then revalued through landed-cost adjustments when freight/customs invoices arrive. Consultation: ₹4,000/hour or ₹1,80,000 for the architecture phase. This engagement deserves senior functional design before development begins.

Hi, Your Bomax vision aligns with how scalable ERP platforms should be designed—business logic first, then development. 1. Multi-Tier SaaS: I recommend a tenant-aware architecture with Organization, Branch and Franchise entities. Every record is tenant-scoped with RBAC and row-level isolation, while Super Admin accesses consolidated analytics through organization-level reporting without exposing tenant data. 2. Universal Production: Instead of hardcoding departments, build a configurable Workflow Stage Engine where stages, rules and validations are data-driven. The biggest challenge is keeping a single WIP and costing engine flexible enough to support manufacturing and laundry workflows without branching the codebase. 3. Machinery: Standard ERP practice is to receive inventory using provisional costs, then apply Landed Cost Adjustments when freight and customs invoices arrive. The system recalculates inventory value and COGS while preserving financial accuracy. I have experience with ERP architecture, Inventory, Manufacturing, Accounting, CRM, POS and workflow automation using Odoo and custom ERP solutions. My focus is designing scalable workflows, normalized databases and maintainable business logic before development starts. I'd be happy to review your blueprint and help validate the architecture before implementation. Regards, Shubham

Hi, I can support Bomax as an ERP functional consultant by validating the SaaS architecture, business logic, workflow design, and database relationships before development starts. The best solution is to review your blueprint module by module and produce a practical ERP design note covering tenant hierarchy, franchise isolation, universal WIP/production flow, inventory, landed cost, service, warranty, POS, logistics, reporting, and role-based controls. My assessment: 1. Multi-tier SaaS: use tenant/company/branch/franchise hierarchy with strict row-level tenant isolation, role-based permissions, shared master templates, and consolidated analytics through controlled aggregate views only. 2. Universal production: the biggest challenge is designing flexible stage-routing, item identity, status history, costing, and WIP tracking without creating industry-specific tables. 3. Machinery landed cost: use provisional costing at sale, post later freight/customs invoices through landed-cost adjustment, and allocate variance to COGS/inventory based on serial/batch rules. 4. Background: ERP process mapping, inventory, multi-branch workflows, POS, service operations, database logic, reporting, and SaaS workflow automation. [Add 15+ year ERP implementation examples here] Deliverables include: * ERP blueprint review * Database relationship notes * Workflow maps * Module logic recommendations * Risk/gap list * Implementation guidance for developers Best regards Ankit

Multi-Tier Isolation (Analyst View) Three tables drive everything: fact_transactions (carries tenant_id + franchisor_id), dim_tenant (tier, industry_type, region), and agg_daily_sales (pre-materialized, PII-stripped). Analysts filter by franchisor_id for brand reports, tenant_id for store-level. Raw cross-tenant joins never happen — only through aggregates. The cardinality rule: facts are 1:1 with tenant. Universal Production (Analyst View) wip_stage is the single throughput truth table. stage_name is the only industry-specific field (machinery: "Sub-assembly"; dry cleaning: "Wash"). entered_at / exited_at let analysts calculate cycle time per stage — minutes for dry cleaning, days for machinery. Join wip_order.industry_type to dim_tenant to segment cycle time benchmarks. Key metric: AVG(exited_at - entered_at) grouped by stage_name identifies bottlenecks per industry. Landed Cost (Analyst View) Two columns — provisional_cost and final_cost — enable variance analysis (SUM(final_cost - provisional_cost)), COGS accuracy tracking (COUNT(*) WHERE final_cost IS NULL), and profit restatement (join fact_cogs_adjustment to fact_sales on sale_id). Golden rule: never report COGS from provisional_cost alone — always check for a final_cost adjustment in that period.
