We need a grant writer for a 5 page Nike Community Grant for $10,000. Back to the Basics is a community organization designed to teach young men and women that by making good decisions today, they will be in a position to not only survive, but to thrive as they progress in life. Our core goal is to build solid, foundational leaders by channeling community service programs that are effective and address social, cultural, educational, and recreational needs. Back to the Basics (B2TB) serves as a resource, advocate, expert and provider of quality coaching, mentoring and teaching. Back to the Basics aims to provide outreach and interruption services to help reduce gun violence and support Chicagoans who are high-risk to be perpetrators or victims of gun violence. It is designed to provide year-round opportunities in sports such as basketball, indoor fitness and other recreational sports to youth in the inner-city communities. Understanding the limited amount of resources for youth in inner-city Chicago as well as local schools, no fees are charged for participation for youths.
