The website ideally would be very similar to that of VIPKID.com. The teachers need a signup portal where they learn about teaching for EnglishGang, sign up and book an online interview. This will also have a blog section. Referrals: Via cookies and referral codes, people should be able to track who they referred and each person’s status. Teachers that sign up teachers will get 1,000 baht once that teacher has passed the interview and taught one class. Anyone who signs up a family will be entitled to 5% of their first purchase. Each member should have a simple referral page in their account with their referral code, people they have referred and their statuses. The parents also need a signup portal where they can learn about the benefits of learning English online. They will also be able to see a menu of our teachers where it will have a thumbnail picture of the teacher with their first name and country of origin. When they click on that page, it will go to the teacher’s short bio and short video. The video can be hosted on a third party site (YouTube). The page will also show the teachers’ upcoming availability. These will be blocks of 30 minutes. Each class will be 25 minutes, separated by 5 minutes for prep or break time. Each child will be given a free assessment class. If they have not yet done the free assessment class and they try to book a class with a teacher, they will be redirected to the free assessment signup page. Parents cannot book classes until they take the assessment and the assessor unlocks that student’s profile for bookings. Once the student’s profile is unlocked, the parent will be allowed to buy packages and book classes. In class: The student and the teacher should for the most part see the same screen. The screen should have a small version of “you” and a large version of the other person. The teacher should also be able to upload the PDF for that class onto the screen. The teacher can control the PDF page flipping, not the student. There should be the standard audio (volume) and visual controls (brightness). On screen tools: Similar to snapchat, the teacher should be able to have about 20 on screen overlays. These overlays will make the teacher’s face have cat features, show a cartoon teacher and a cartoon student giving high fives (with sound), a firetruck racing by the screen, etc. Another tool would be the teacher’s e-magnetic board. The teacher should be able to click to have a white board pop up, and the teacher should be able to type up to 20 characters on that board. The screen should also have a clock showing the local time. Feedback: At the end of the lesson, both the teacher and student should be able to provide brief feedback about how the lesson went. There will be 5 different categories with 1 - 5 stars each, and a field for comments in both Thai and English. Admin system: I will need to see a general overview of what classes are scheduled, what classes were completed, what classes were not completed and why. I will need to access all accounts as a superuser - being able to edit profiles, give/take credits, adjust user feedback, override scheduling, banning profiles, etc. Accounting: I will need to see the general numbers of credits purchased, credits used and credits remaining. Customers should receive an automatic email when their credits are getting low to buy more.
