Hotel Conference Room Booking Application

Overall Project Summary Develop a J2EE web application that provides hotel conference room booking services for a hotel. The application will consist of jspx pages, servlets and/or filters, css files, event listeners, java bean components, and java data components and will provide navigation between them through the use of buttons and links. When the application first opens, the client will be presented with a login screen. They will provide their login information. The application will authenticate their credentials against information stored in a database. After logging in, the client is presented with a hotel conference room bookings screen. Client can perform the following operations: View existing hotel conference room bookings Cancel a hotel conference room booking Book a hotel conference room Exit the application (logout) View Existing Hotel Conference Room Bookings Once the client has logged in, they are presented with a screen showing a list of the client's current hotel conference room bookings (room name, room capacity, start date and time, duration, and booking cost). Along with each booking is a Cancel Booking button. To cancel a hotel conference room booking, the client would simply click the Cancel Booking button. After cancelling a hotel conference room booking, the client is presented with an updated list of current hotel conference room bookings showing that the booking has been cancelled. Book a Hotel Conference Room The client will use the book conference room page to book a hotel conference room. The page allows the starting date and time to be specified as well as the duration. The starting time as well as the duration should be drop down lists. The starting time should include all the times for a 24 hour day in 15 minute jumps. E.g., 12:00 am, 12:15 am, 12:30 am, ..., 11:45 pm. The duration should include time blocks in 15 minute jumps up to a 24 hour period. E.g. 0:15, 0:30, 0:45, 1:00, ..., 23:45, 24:00. Finally, a Check Availability button can be clicked to search for any available hotel conference rooms matching the specified criteria. After the Check Availability button is clicked, the search results are listed on the same page (below the search criteria). Beside each listed conference room is a Book Conference Room button. The client can simply click the Book Conference Room button to book the conference room. Logging Out When the client logs out, the application terminates the client's session and returns to the login screen. The Hotel Conference Rooms The hotel conference rooms available for booking will be fixed and prepopulated in the database in Stage 3 of the application.
