A few years ago I built a website for a Chinese takeaway and I now want to offer similar websites to other fast food businesses but I wish to switch to serverless technology as I feel it will be more efficient as my business expands.
This initial website is built upon the Opencart framework hosted on an Ubuntu Linux server running Apache, PHP and MySQL. Running on top of the server is ISPConfig which handles all the configuration tasks such as setting up the domain, creating a database, FTP access and generating free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates. All this is currently on an Amazon EC2 instance.
However, I have recently been looking into serverless technology and I am now thinking that this will provide a better long-term solution than the traditional LAMP stack. I like the idea of not having to worry about servers and instead use Amazon services such as S3 along with CloudFront, DynamoDB and Route 53 to deliver the websites. I am also thinking a Lambda function could be used to automatically print out the orders at the takeaway? In regards to SSL certificates, I believe AWS Certificate Manager would take of that requirement.
