Background
LawPracticeZA (LP) is a web-based Matter Management and Billing application developed by Nitric Software Laboratory for South African Law Firms.
LP runs on Linux servers and has been developed using open-source software, primarily Python (on the back end).
We integrate with a number of systems (including Google Gmail and Calendar) but many of our clients use Microsoft Outlook (various versions).
We would like to offer integration with Outlook and are consequently investigating what it will cost to outsource the development of the functionality required, explained in broad terms below.
Requirements
When inside Outlook's email view, i.e. when reading an email/conversation, then a drop-down/combo-box widget with a "link" button appears somewhere in the toolbar.
A request is made to LP to suggest a likely match(es) based on some of the email's header values: primarily the sender, but also perhaps the subject, if for example the matter code exists in the subject. The user can also enter some characters to search for matters in the combo-box, select from results and then press "link".
When link is pressed, another API call is made to LP to store the email thread ID on the matter (any number of email threads can be connected to a matter). There should also be an "un-link" component to the widget, perhaps a split button or on right/long click.
In LP, the API calls already exist to list and search matters.
Within LP we can then build the interface to list linked emails threads, and to raise fees on them if necessary.
Details about LP can be found on our website, more specifically, under ‘Developers’. Link to document below, where comments can be added.

Hello,
I am a skilled Outlook Add-in developer and I can add a button on top Outlook Ribbon to allow the email to be tagged with the ID using the API. I have developed several similar Add-ins before. Please take a look at my profile and the clients comments about my work. Invite me for discussion to proceed further.
