Website Changes and Enhancements

We are looking for assistance in maintaining and enhancing our company website. Our website currently utilizes SiteFinity v4.0 for the CMS and Telerik Web UI controls and components for general document and user management. Successful completion of this project, could lead to many future projects. Overview: Our company website ([login to view URL]) redesign was completed in the spring of 2011. The website was developed utilizing SiteFinity v4.1 as the CMS and is hosted on a dedicated server. Our site also features a “File Transfer Center” (FTC) and a “Knowledge Center” (KC), which has custom coding that allows our clients access to technical data, files, pictures, and general information. The site utilized a 2008 MS SQL backend. Given the specialty Natare of our business, the primary objective in the design and development of our site is to introduce our products, equipment and systems to a wide range of architects, contractors and potential users around the world. Our site is not currently providing any ecommerce functions, but we anticipate doing so in the near future both for the revenue stream and as an easy means for prospective customers to gather information about our products. In addition, our goal is to provide a direct channel for customers in areas where we do not have distribution. Primary document types made available through the web site include .doc, .xls, .dwg, .dxf, .pdf, .zip, .txt, .jpg, and .ppt. Editable forms of these documents are available to all users except “Guest User’s”. All user data and documents for the website are stored in the MS SQL 2008 database. There are currently (4) user levels: Admin, Power User, Registered User and Guest User. An Admin user has full access to the FTC, including the “Manage User” section which gives the ability to modify the user information, passwords and assign appropriate user levels. Within the FTC is a folder tree structure similar to Windows Explorer that allows easy access to all documents and files located within the FTC and KC. Within the FTC, Registered Users have the ability to access “Groups” which are folders created by an Admin or Power User for select users to access and share documents related to a specific project. If you are a member of a particular group, you will be able to retrieve files from that folder or send (upload) files to that folder. Each of the four user types have certain rights given to them to limit features and/or access in the FTC. The FTC and KC functionality uses standard Telerik controls. Although we are fairly happy with the current functionality of our site, there are numerous areas in need of enhancements / improvements. We are also considering implementing an ecommerce solution in the near future. We are looking for an ongoing resource to help us improve and maintain our site. This current project is one of many that are in need of completion. Since our site was created using SiteFinity CMS (currently 4.0) and Telerik controls, experience with these tools is a must. Initial Project Scope (first assignment): 1. The File Transfer Center is in need of an “Upload Log” where an Admin user can see all uploaded files in one location. Giving the ability to sort by user, date, group etc. and have the ability to delete unnecessary or unwanted uploads. 2. Once a file has been uploaded to a specific user or group, we would like an email sent to notify them that a new file is available for download. 3. The comments section in the Manage User window is very limited in size. This needs to be larger to allow for additional comment space. Please contact us for additional information about this project.
