Hi
We are looking to extend our portal with a sitetab module for ibuyspy.
Our idea was to have a module that holds all the sitetab information of the tab we are currently on. Because it is a module we would have full control over where to place this instead of the current solution that require you to put it in a certain place.
Our idea would be something like this :
it will be super easy for you to create your own style of subtab menus, you create a module as you usually do, and get
sub tab information through a standard API, like this:
Which will give you the subtabs under the current tab your module is sitting, and you can use
foreach (subtab in [login to view URL])
do something
maybe even say:
foreach (subsubtab in [login to view URL])
do something
end foreach
end foreach
You can databinding the subtabs to a repeater, or datagrid,...,what ever, which is very flexible.
The api that is exposed can then be interpreted by a usercontrol that handles all the programming this will have all the for eacht etc in it.
So i would see something like add a module, feed id the xml that has all the subtab information adn apply to it the template that will render the exposed api to a menu.
Please provide us with your ideas comments how you would handle this and bids. This will be one of the more advanced ibs modules we will require in the future.
All the functionality can be programmed in a dll just the module code and the templateusercontrols can be in asp.net or C#
