This document describes a data entry program used to edit geographic locations. The program consists of a front-end map and manipulation tools and a back end MySql database. You need to know C#, JavaScript (preferably be conversant with JQuery), Ajax techniques. You also need to learn the map server engine API, ThinkGeo Web Edition, which is available as a free download. The data entry is done offshore, but the server is in the US, so it is important to implement a disconnected architecture, to the extent possible. We want the forms to be responsive and minimize the number of round trips to the server for data.
The program is meant to be integrated with an existing website, http://mapexsa.com. Access to the program is by password-protected login (but this part is under construction at this time; start the work as if login is not required. We anticipate the login will be ready approximately 10 days from today, at which time you can connect the page to the Data Entry menu).
The idea is to cycle through all the unedited records in a table (BMain of Bdir db, a MySql database), manually dragging the corresponding marker to the correct geographical location. Changes are either saved or discarded.
The data records accessed are stored in a MySql table, but the points to be created/moved are in the [login to view URL], a shape file format accessed with the query methods of ThinkGeo. [login to view URL] is located in the same directory as the other map shape files, ./map.
## Deliverables
I am attaching a Word document describing the task in more detail. I will send you the VS 2008 project and give you access to our production server once you have accepted the job.
