PHP to connect to [login to view URL] API

Description:
We need several PHP scripts to interface with Highrise - a web based CRM System created by 37 Signals ([url removed, login to view]). The PHP code will need to check emails accounts (that we will setup and control) and check for and process new email messages. The scripts will interface with Highrise via the API to Add and Update People, Cases and Notes.
Some scripts will be executed after a HTTP POST (ie someone fills in a form on our website and clicks send) and some will be run from a cron job on LAMP. Some scripts will need to call other one or more of the other scripts so that code can be reused rather than duplicated.
If possible we may also copy files (which where attached to the email of via HTTP POST) via FTP to a remote location.
**Extra questions**:
* What experience do you have with processing emails via SMTP, POP3 and IMAP using PHP code?
* How familiar are you and/or what experience do you have with the Highrise API on [url removed, login to view]
* Can you develop, test and demonstrate it to us within 30 days from the acceptance date? This way you can use the "30 Day Free Trial" for the account and test on a staging system rather than the live system.
