We are attempting to determine if the combination of PHP and MySQL, in the Linux environment, will provide the results we are looking for. Therefore, this project will result in A) a larger scale PHP/MySQL development effort ($5K+) or B) another proof of concept project exercising different tools and/or a different developer. This proof of concept project will involve the coder developing a prototype database application (using PHP and MySQL) which allows the entry of data, via the web, and the presentation of previously entered data to web users. The database tables and relationships between records in the different tables, will be user-defined. In addition, the user-interface (i.e. which fields are prompted for, the prompts that are used, the values allowed to be entered in each field, etc.) will be user-defined. And finally, the presentation/inquiry of records entered into each table, along with, at the same time, presentation of the records related to other records, will be user-defined. As you see, this project is not for inexperienced coders. Rather, you will need to be able to develop A) a system for users to define what they want the system to allow them to do and B) the system which does what the users have defined.
