Changing scope and requirements from original project (prototype, see below). Want to upgrade this to an Alpha version capable of handling a live client. This will be a client portal that gives access to a custom set of drill-down customer reports and a knowledge base of both client-specific and general information. ? Initial environment will be shared hosting, MySQL, Jasper Reports, and an open-source CMS TBD based on recommendations from coder. ? Work will involve setting up the CMS with a fairly simple structure, building the reports based on detailed mockups, and publishing the reports in the CMS. ? I will provide the data model supporting the reports and load the MySQL DB. ? ******** Need setup of a rough prototype corporate CMS/Portal. ? I am looking for basic install and configuration of open source applications for a sandbox environment to determine the practicality and suitability of the approach. What I need from a coder at this stage is 1) confirmation of approach and recommendations re: apps/tools and 2) install and configuration in a hosted environment with system able to deliver some basic functionality. I believe this will end up being something like Drupal/Joomla/TikiWiki and Jasper Reports installed at [login to view URL], but am open to other suggestions and validating this is part of what I am looking for from the chosen coder. If this prototype works out, there will be follow-on work to build out a live site. ## Deliverables My company is Aventine Partners, and we do marketing analytics work that is both project-based and is provided as an ongoing service. The objective of this project is to develop a portal that will serve multiple clients and give them access based on UN and login to a set of dynamic reports based on the client's customer data. ? We see the solution as follows: 1) ? MySQL with a DB for each client 2) ? An open source CMS that will handle multiple users, give access to pages specific to each client (which will be a separate group for the CMS) and provide for each client or group a set of static pages (initially about 5) and access to three reports that will have some interactive features (drill-down based on about four dimensions). 3) ? Reports designed and delivered via Jasper Reports. We have already developed the three reports we are looking for and can soon provide a rough mockup (wireframe) of the site as we envision it. ? Please reply with questions and an indicative bid. ? We can respond with further information and the mockups of the site and reports to serious bidders. Thanks for the time reading and considering this project. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Monday Oct 26, 2009 11:08:13 AM: To all bidders on the Multi-Client Reporting portal. This bid request is still active (I've extended the bidding deadline). If still interested, please also let me know interest, availability, and rate for providing 20 - 40 hrs. continued support per month for 6 to 12 months after the project. This project is very likely to move ahead, but I will need a coder who can remain involved and assist with making incremental improvements over time. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Thursday Oct 29, 2009 10:57:22 AM: o bidders on the Multi-Client portal project: Some have asked for more detail on requirements. To better illustrate, I have mocked up much of what we need from the CMS on a hosted extranet service. In fact, multi-client extranet + reporting might be a better way to describe this. To see the mockup, go to aventine.projectspaces.com. Use the following logins: Admin: UN: test1@[login to view URL] PW: extranet Chocolate Co. Client: UN: test2@[login to view URL] PW: extranet Dental Co. Client: UN: test3@[login to view URL] PW: extranet Here are the important things you should note: - Very simple home/login page that is independent of which client group a user belongs to. - User credentials drive their 'home' page and content they can access. Admin can see client pages and admin functions. Clients can only see the client pages (in the ProjectSpaces world, 'project' pages) they are assigned to. - Content types are: Documents, Discussions, and Announcements. -Users can have three levels of access rights: guest, content editor, and admin. Content editors and Admins can upload files. Some ways we want to modify from what you can do on ProjectSpaces: - Want to be able to publish reports from JasperReports or other BI app. This could be in the Documents section or a fourth, Reports section. Best implementation of this is probably an image of the report, and short description, and a link. - The Discussions function should be a bit more robust, with the ability to develop a thread with comments. Should be standard functionality in any CMS. Reasons we can't just use ProjectSpaces: - We will be making modifications to this initial implementation over time and need the flexibility to do that. - We need to be able to directly access files via FTP. - We want integrated on same server with the BI app and client data in MySQL. I believe there are many CMSs that can handle all of these functions with few or no custom mods. Please note that all this addresses the CMS portion of this project. There are also the DB and BI parts. This shows how we will publish the reports. For the DB, I have the test client database already established and will load into MySQL. We then want an out-of-the box installation of an OpenSource BI suite. The selected coder will do that install, establish connections to the DB, and then develop two reports based on mockups we have already done. Please review this and respond confirming your interest in this project and with questions. For us to seriously consider bidders we need to know your recommendations, even if preliminary, on the CMS and the BI tool. There are many bidders; a bid amount and a list of websites developed will not be enough for us to pursue a bid. Also, please note the earlier request for rate for follow-up work. Our plan is to get this launched and then work with the coder and a set monthly budget to do updates to the client data and make improvements to the extranet and reports. I anticipate the monthly budget will be $250 - $500, and we plan to do this for 12 months. Thanks for considering this project. Please respond with questions.
