I'm an electrical engineer and lecturer in Electrical Installations in the UK, i'm learning PHP but not ready to start building my website yet

i will list here roughly what i am looking for without being spacific

the idea of the site is to help tradesmen (electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc) find work

this would be in several ways, the site should be built using PHP and MySQL scrpts/bocks/forms etc

section 1 would be to advertise and introduce small to medium tradesmens firms (typically 99p per year), including one man bands, by getting the tradesmen to fill in detailed forms about their registration to competent person schemes plus experience, qualifications etc. There would need to be a geographical find a local tradesmen type search facility for prospective landlord/business customers to find them. a feed back form similar to ebay. plus a forum for the tradesmen to help eachother. finally a counter to say how many tradesmen are registered on the site. when a prospective customer registers what type of service they want and thier location they should automatically be sent details of local tradesmen to their email address.

section 2 would be the cheapest online employment agency specialising in introducing tradesmen and contracting employers to employ them, unlike other employment agencys this one would be interested in the lower end of the employment income brackets. very heavily promoting apprenticeships, so no employer would have to pay when taking on an apprentice, or if they are offerering proper traing, ie allowing trainees to attend colege 2 days a week while being employed, getting onsite training at work 3 or 4 days a week.

section 3 would be to attract apprentices and adult trainees to use the site so Moodle (free from [url removed, login to view])should be utilised to provide online traing, forums, wickies etc and tests at very low prices

client side can be written using any editor you prefure possibly dreamweaver but i would like to use PHP and MySQL server side with appache as thats what i'm learning to use
