In Progress Paid on delivery

I'm willing to pay $150-$250 for this work.

Basically I have site being made for a client that is 70% done. You can see it here [url removed, login to view] (remove_this)[url removed, login to view]

I have a great programmer working on the site and has made it what it so far, but sadly he is super busy now a days and now works a fulltime job and is getting married blah, blah, blah. So he only has a few hours each day to work on the site. He's a great guy, but I need someone to work on this site fulltime. Anyway me and him agreed that I'd give the remainingg 30% of the task to a new programmer (team) that could take it on fulltime. He is going to work as a helper for that programmer/team. Answering any questions you have.

NOTE: The client has started and will create the database entries anyway you want. The is no import or any of that. IF you want a new column added for a product the client will add that.

There are 2 main challenges task for this project is that there needs to be calculations made to get a price. So it's the pricequoter function that is all I see that is hard (if that's hard at all) for this project. It just calculates a price based on different variables (quantity, color, product type, etc). The second challenge is my client wants the site just like the way he designed it in his psds. For the most part it is, but you know there is going to be some custom work here to make it look like what he wants. Everything is not going to be hard for anyone who has done oscommerce work.

Important note: there is a flash design lab aspect to this project. YOU WILL NOT BE DOING THAT WORK. It basically allows a person to adds designs to a tshirt. I'm having someone else do that work, because it is complicated. With that app the most you will do is help that flash developer link back to the site.

See the customer would say select 50 shirts as the quantity. Say that equals $500.00. They then clicked go to the design lab and they would design the shirt. The most you would do is talk with the flash designer so that after they have made that design that $500 amount would go to the checkout when the leave there. Really you don't have to worry about the design lab. I'm just mentioning it in case you don't get what is needed for that part. It's really work you wont' be doing.

Here is the original description of work. Remember 70% of this is done

Our current website: [url removed, login to view] functions and ranks very well on Google and is the root of our business. However, [url removed, login to view] is very static and is basically 1000 static product pages with a phone number and a link to a quote form. We are finding it increasingly difficult to get customers who are not afraid to pick up the phone and would like to provide them with very simple quotes on the item pages.

To do this we are establishing a sister company. We are creating a spin-off site called [url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view] would be data-base fed and have the ability to calculate quotes online as well as offer a checkout process.

We have already designed the site, but we need someone to build it.

Attached is the layout of the core pages for your review.

It is critical that the site be kept SIMPLE to use and be able to generate quotes on the item page. To better understand how it would function, we have a supplier/competitor which is doing something similar. You can see this at:

[url removed, login to view](remove_this)[url removed, login to view]

Key instructions:

The site will contain approximately 1000 products – the same products as showyourlogo.com. There are two slightly different quote forms. One for Apparel items such as t-shirts and one for Non-apparel items such as mugs or pens.

The images, prices, item descriptions, headlines, paragraphs, title tag and meta tags for each page should feed pages from an easy to update database. We must be able to maintain our SEO.

On each item page, there will be color swatches. When you mouse-over each color swatch, the product image will change. We are already working on creating product images in every color for every item.

The quotes provided on each item page should update as the visitor enters the information requested. There should be no registering or logging on. See the “[url removed, login to view]” example given above.

We would like the option for the user to save their shopping cart to come back later – this would be the only time necessary to register with email address and password – so they can easily return later and pull up their shopping cart.

Note: Attached is the excel files for each product. They are starting this now and just need me and your input while columns need to be made. They can make it way you or I want.

Well basically what they have is a static site. It's just images. I need you to convert it into an oscommerce site or any other ecommerce type site.. Take they're design and cut it up and make it dynamic. . The hard part I see in this project is the calculations and the pricequouter. But really it can be made anyway you think will work. Really anyway you want to build this is fine. They are more relying on you (ME) to come up with a solution to get this working. It's not anything that is too out there at all. And I'm getting done the flash work. It's basically a standard turn a static site into an ecommerce site project. The big advantage that never usually happens is that they will make the excel files anyway you want and organize them any way you want.

Here are more detailed notes on that.

I don't think this will be to hard, though time consuming. It will require them you to just have a link to an image in a folder for each swatch. For say item 433_tshirt they'd have a photo for it in every color. So scrolling over the green swatch would have the site calling the the folder that holds that holds that item 433_tshirt green image. I don't think it will be too hard. I mean it's just like if they click on the green swatch of the shirt and hyperlink pop up came up for [url removed, login to view] The only difference here is they would only need to hover over the image for it to popup.

Some more notes:

We would like the option for the user to save their shopping cart to come back later – this would be the only time necessary to register with email address and password – so they can easily return later and pull up their shopping cart.

I understand that the data file we provided was over-simplified and I do understand building all the variables into it and leaving the cells blank on products for which they do not apply. We will have version 2 with much more detail / many more columns on Monday.

Pricing of custom imprinted products involves a lot of variables that we're trying to simplify down and they do change between types of products as some are screen printed, others are embroidered, some can be either way, some are engraved, some embossed, etc. We are going to simlify this, though, for the sake of keeping our sanity. We don't need to make the site with EVERY option or the form would be sooooo complicated we'd no longer be cheap, fast, and easy.

IMPORTANT PRICING NOTE: Now I think we can just have them put all these prices in the database and just call them or have them figure out the calculation. They really have 2 members who are doing data entry. So anyway YOU want to do this that works is fine with me.

Here's a little run-down of pricing we'll need to figure out.

Pricing is always based on quantity. Buy more, the price is cheaper - thus the little price matrix you see. To keep that matrix simple, we're only basing it on a one color/one location imprint (if it's an item being screen printed or anything else) or for embroidered items, the prices will be based on a standard number of stitches. These will be easy.

The little "Get a Quote Now" form on each item page is what is going to be a bit more work.

Apparel pricing is based on

Item color: White shirts are cheaper than colors. We'll have two blank item prices. One for white (default) and it will change if the user clicks on any other color. All other colors will be the same price, though.

Imprint method (screen print or embroidery). To keep this simple, we're going to build this so all t-shirts and sweatshirts will be based on screen printing only. All polos, dress shirts, hats, and jackets will be based on embroidery only.

1. Screen printing pricing is based on a price grid depending on quantity and number of colors. We will have two price grids because printing on white shirts is cheaper than printing on colors. I've attached the price grid for screen printing on white shirts. We'll have another very similar one, just a little higher numbers for all color shirts.

2. Embroidery pricing is based on quantity and the number of stitches. We will have assume 7000 stitches for everything to simplify, but it will still vary depending on quantity. I'll have to get you that price grid, too.

Number of imprint locations. If we're screen printing a one color front and a two color back on 100 white t-shirts, you use the same price grid twice. $.70 for the front imprint and another $1.00 for the back imprint per shirt.

Setup charges are easy. For every color we screen print, we need to make a screen. Screens are $10 each. two color front and two color back = four screens x $10 = $40.

For embroidery, it's based on $x per 1000 stitches. Since we're assuming 7000 stitches, it will be a set price. I have to figure out what that price is from my guy over here.

Freight: We are a broker. Items ship from our vendors all over the country to our customers who are all over the country. However, it's not so bad. Each item has a specific vendor we buy from. We can provide the zip code of the shipper for each item and the visitor will type in their zip code for the ship to. Also, we will know how much each item weighs and how many are shipped in a box. From that, the site should be able to determine # of boxes, weight of each box, and UPS ground freight from one zip code to another zip code, right? Please?

Below is what the flash design part I have and will get someone to customize for this is something you wont' have to worry about. I'll get the product called to the flash application and displayed with the correct pricing on the shopping cart page.

Finally, we would like a “Design Studio” option where visitors can “visit the design studio” to create and/or upload their art to create a mockup image of the product with their artwork. This would be similar to [url removed, login to view](remove_this)[url removed, login to view]

Visitors would link to it from an item page. When they click "visit the design studio", I'd want the lab to open inside a page, not a pop-up. I would want people to feel they have not left the site and I'd want to avoid pop-up blockers.

Select Product:

The "select product" page would not be necessary because I'd want the item page they clicked on to be the item that loads in the lab. This page could just have all the color swatches for the item. We'd provide item images in every color so clicking a swatch would load an actual product image in that color.

The Add/Edit text:

Debug it a bit. Arc sometimes causes text to disappear, etc.

Add an option to "Bring to Front" or "Send to Back" instead of "Flip, Align, and Layers" which can all just go away. Always center text and images.

Remove "shadow" and shadow color. Adding a shadow usually involves shaded color which we want to avoid printing.

Add/Edit Graphics:

We would use this a LOT for making mockups for clients.

Three big wants:

1. Knockout white on uploaded art. We'd want to click a "Knockout white" button to make white areas (background of uploaded image) transparent.

2. Wrap uploaded art like you do text. We'd want to be able to arc artwork to make it look like it wraps around curved items like mugs and bottles and stress balls, etc.

3. Create a .jpg button so, when completed with the art, you can just click a button to make a composite .jpg image with the URL [url removed, login to view](remove_this)[url removed, login to view] at the lower right corner so visitors remember where they got it.

I also love the save/load your design function. That would be awesome. We'd only require an email address and password to save artwork.
