You have been commissioned by a University to showcase your system design and implementation talents by creating a student grading system in Visual Basic 6.0 and MS Access 97 and to provide an associated small web site. The system needs to run under both Windows NT and Windows 2000. If you impress them with this then they will be offering you the chance to bid for lucrative contracts in the future. As part of the project they also want you to provide a two page (only) dynamic web site for the system on their PHP-enabled web server. Page one (the home page) will be your company details ??" page two will be help details for / description of the system. Both pages must be PHP pages. Include a date function on each page. (No database access or other dynamic functionality in the two web pages is required). The pages must demonstrate hypertext links between the two pages The system should allow the lecturer to input a score from 0 to 100. The system should allow the storage (in a database) and display of the grades generated, the Unit details, the scores and the student details whose work was graded. The design should adhere to normal Windows standards. You can make the system more or less elaborate capturing details of exams and coursework. Pass grades can be obtained for a simple system as described above. Marks will be awarded for the following: 1. A detailed E-R diagram of the system. (10) 2. A data dictionary for your database. Include screen dumps of sample data rows from the database. You MUST use MS ACCESS 97 (NOT 2000 or XP). (10) 3. Your comments within the code. (10) 4. A discussion of HOW you have applied named usability and GUI design principles in your user interface design with examples using associated annotated screen dumps. (10) 5. A test plan with annotated screen dumps should reflect the test plan values and the table data dumps above. Provide details of the user interface design in RUN MODE. (10) 6.
