I have some personal data I stored on a Mambo 4.5.2 installation w/ Component Community Builder v1.0 Beta 3 For whatever reason the web server was totally screwed up on the Mysql side and I couldn't do a normal .sql dump.. so I copied the .frm, .MYD, .MYI files.. and I have those.. I can see parts of my data in there when I look at them in a text editor.. (I also backed up my original configuration files for the server.. aka all the mambo stuff w/ components installed etc. but I deleted a few directory's out that Contained 100+ Gb of data.. this should not however have impaired basic mambo functionality) Here's the thing.. I'm ready to move to joomla and the community builder component has been upgraded several times since I first start using it I want to get this data + maybe a few of my news posts and move it to joomla.. the problem I've had is getting this data into a useable format.. I'm not mysql expert and have never dealt with a real database files before.. So that's the job - Extract my data - Place it in updated Joomla + Community Builder web site.. (there isn't a lot of data there are basically 5-12 users with box's filled in for each one.. and 3-4 news posts) A person who is a expert in mysql should in theory be able to knock this out in 5 minutes.. expertise in joomla/mambo will probably help in this situation.. my data isn't super VALUABLE so I'm not willing to pay much sorry! I would also like to note that's it's not possible to install the Beta 3 community builder component on joomla (unless you hack it's .xml file/installer as it insists it can't be installed) a absolute expert in this whoever probably doesn't need to do the upgrade.. but I wanted to point that out.. If you think you can do this job.. please leave a PERSONALIZED message on PM about the time you think it should take or your expertise in mysql/joomla/mambo

Converting the data is simply a matter of placing the data files in an existing MySQL installation, and then running mysqldump, so this isn't a problem. The Mambo-to-Joomla migration shouldn't be a problem either. All in all, this would take a maximum of four hours to complete, and the loss of data should be minimal to none (some database structure requirements have been implemented with Joomla over Mambo, but nothing crippling).
