Magento Projects - Mimic Ordering Process on Another Site, Add Zoom Effect to Thumbnails

We have a website where you can order customized styrofoam cups. The site is built in Magento. We will share the URL with qualified bidders.
There are 3 parts of this project:
1. We would like to mimic the ordering process shown here: [url removed, login to view]
Note the way the user can select the ink color, the font, and the clip art. Our ink, font, and clip art options are totally different from this site, but we like the way it is organized. Ideally we would like to be able to organize the fonts a little better: the user would select a TYPE of font first (Plain, Script, Christmas, Halloween, etc.) and then select the actual font from a scrolling list that shows actual examples of the fonts.
2. We would like to add a Javascript effect to the thumbnails on the product page and the category page that zooms in on the thumbnail, like this: [url removed, login to view]
3. We would like to remove the "Compare Products" option from the product pages. (This part is easy!)
