I want to build a video-sharing website for high school athletes to upload clips of themselves playing their sport (< 1 minute) for college coaches to see. Ideally each player/coach would create their own profile. Players could then upload videos to their profile and tag those videos with descriptors based on the activity that they are performing, as well as be able to post the videos "@" a particular coach or college similar to the way Facebook posts operate. Coaches would be notified if players tag them in a video post. Would like for coaches to have the ability to comment on videos privately for only uploader to see. The visual aesthetic of the site would be similar to Instagram, with a scrolling feed of uploaded videos visible to all users. Would also like for users to be able to filter their feed to show only videos posted a certain Region/State/or geographic area. Basic "player" profile would be free but want ability to upgrade to "premium" version that would allow coaches to see all of player's contact information, biographical info, statistics, etc.
I am a former college and professional baseball player who currently works with elite youth baseball players. I would like a better platform for players to connect with coaches online.
I have almost zero technical knowledge of the skills and requirements that this project will take. Will need assistance setting up hosting, etc. Freelancer will be asked to "set me up for success" and most likely will be tasked with future site maintenance, tweaks, and fixes. Project will be ongoing and evolving. Seeking working relationship with true professional. Must communicate clearly and effectively. I need someone who can turn ideas into reality.
