when i try to edit the [login to view URL] of my child theme via wordpress > editor it didn't work so I went into file manager>wp-content and saw that the freelancer who copied my site over from my last hosting, uploaded a zip file of the wordpress backup. So I couldn't edit the [login to view URL] file because I couldn't access the wp-content > themes. I then extracted the files directly into wp-content and tried to edit the extracted file. it's not the correct file. it's an old file that doesn't have the edits I have added in the last 2 months. editing it makes no difference.
I need you to clean up my file manager (delete all these new files that got added to wp>content when i extracted the backup directly) so it looks like it should and I am able to edit my [login to view URL] file directly (replace the zipped folder with unzipped files). Everything should be current. make sure you don't replace old files with new ones
