We want to build a database of case studies that serves the purpose of displaying our work on previous projects based on a variety of indicators(filters). The database needs to serve two different groups of people – internal staff and potential/current clients. Its purpose is to display the company’s work in a user-friendly manner that is easy to navigate, search and explore.
As well as that, we want to have a section of the website that can pull the location/address information from the database and represent it on a google map. Selecting a project on the map will display the information available about it and link to an existing case study where one is available.
Our current case studies are held in Excel and consists of information for individual case studies represented in columns and rows. Each row is a project and each column contains details about the project. We are looking for a way to turn this into a digital tool that holds the current information and allows filtering by the project details, which are currently held in the columns. The simultaneous use of multiple filters will be required for the functionality of this tool. The ideal solution would function similarly to an online shop, allowing users to select multiple indicators and delivering results based on their filtered search.
As this tool will be used for both internal and external use we want to be able to have additional fields to filter / search on as well as display based on a logged in status of the website.
