It is unusual to have 404 error, usually means that the page really doesn't exist. Also, tell me what is the Drupal version of this website. Based on the description you have, looks like there is some urls created or exist in database for which no real page are present, or there is caching issue which stores the old url in database or some other place pointing to a non existing page. solution could be different based on the real issue (can determine after having access to the website) I am 100% sure this could be issue with cache or db entry. It does not specify if the error is specific to drupal or generic at the server level. Probable I need to access logs files on the server. It is a problem that occurs sometimes, but it is usually solved quickly in 2-4 hours. Have a nice day!
