Hi, I have an idea for your ring size app. In the UK when we insure jewellery, it’s a common practice to photograph the jewellery next to a 50 pence piece. This is a requirement of the insurance company, so the known size of a 50 pence piece can be used to gauge the size of the diamonds etc.
I understand you may want some “auto-magic” camera that takes care of that for you? However, based on my skills and your lowish budget, I wondered if we could have a user take a photo of their hand and then move and scale a virtual item such as a common US coin or some such, something we know the size of. They would pinch with two fingers to resize and position the item above the intended finger on the hand in the photograph, based on the scale we could determine an approximate ring size outputted to the nearest US ring size gauge criteria.
I’m just thinking out loud for a solution that both fits my skill set and your budget. If this interests you it would be great to hear more from you and ideally see any designs/wireframes you may have prepared (even if drawn with pencil and paper - and snapped on your iPhone) so I can get a good idea for the intended UI and flow of the user experience you desire.
It’s real late here, would be great to chat later!
Thanks,
Elliott
