Hello, why do it thru mod_security when this can be done thru iptables firewall with a regex. I coud complete this for you with iptables firewall and a logging facility that logs 3 attempts and after that limit is reached the source IP get's banned permanently. This would be done with iptables and ipset which can handle great capacity of requests and block them before they reach software in PREROUTING table.

Hi, Would it work to have this implemented within the php script itself? I'm not sure mod security is capable of recording the number of views from each IP address, and how long should it take for a view to age out? Thanks, Asher
