Project Description:
We would like to work with a developer who can create a gift card payment module for BigCommerce that will integrate with our existing gift card gateway. We will provide you with our gift card API. Here is a brief summary of the capabilities that the gift card module (or add-on) should add to the check out screen of the BigCommerce shopping cart:
• A field where the customer entered their gift card number and clicks apply. This will cause the module to check the available balance on the card.
• There are four variations on what happens when the customer's gift card only has enough money on it to cover part of the amount due:
• Customer redeems a gift card that does not cover the full amount due. The shopping cart should show the remaining amount due after the gift card has been applied and the customer then pays the balance using a different payment method.
• Customer redeems a gift card that does not cover the full amount due. The shopping cart should show the remaining amount due after the gift card has been applied and the customer then pays the balance using another gift card.
• Customer redeems a gift card that does not cover the full amount due. The shopping cart should show the remaining amount due after the gift card has been applied and the customer cancels the transaction. The module must make sure that the amount on the gift card has not been redeemed. If the module has already posted the transaction to the gift card, it simply needs to sends a void transaction to reverse the charge.

The shopping cart should show the remaining amount due after the gift card has been applied, the customer tries to pay the remaining balance with a credit card, but the credit card is declined. The module must make sure that the amount on the gift card has not been redeemed. If the module has already posted the transaction to the gift card, it simply needs to sends a void transaction to reverse the charge.
Lastly, we want to make sure that an error message will be displayed to the customer if the gift card transaction fails: If you get a decline or error message back form us or if you don't receive any response at all.
• The transaction deducting value from the gift card should be sent to us on checkout success.
• Installation of the gift card module should create a place in the store admin screens where the merchant can enter their gift card merchant ID and other credentials that we assign to them.
Additional notes:
We have already created Gift Card modules for Magento, WordPress and other open source carts. We can share php code from that module to help give you a head start.
• We have a customer waiting on this so we do need someone who can start immediately and complete the project quickly.
• BigCommerce experience is a requirement.
• You must be willing and able to TEST and debug your code on your own server.
• You must provide detailed instructions that web masters can use to install the gift card module.
• Our customers may need your troubleshooting services so please plan on quoting a per incident or hourly fee for BigCommerce users that need your assistance getting the module working.
