PHP function to parse any RSS or atom URL

I need a PHP function that takes an RSS or Atom URL, parses all the articles inside the URL and returns an array that contains all the data for each articles (i.e. Post date, Article Name, Article Details/Description, Article URL, Image URL ..... etc.)

The PHP function must be generic to work with any RSS or Atom URL regardless of the XML schema used
