*Background.
I currently have a server that accesses third party data feeds to populate my database of Mobile Phone Deals.
This is the current way it works:
1. PHP Scripts on my server downloads a ZIP file from a specific Data Feed URL
2. It extracts the ZIP file which contains a CSV file.
3. The Data in the CSV file is then split and imported into the Database into specific fields.
This Process is repeated per Retailer (currently there are 9 retailers).
Most of the CSV data is in singular data points (i.e. a column has only a single value in it) however there are a couple of columns which contains a JSON object with multiple data points in it.
*Database
It is currently configured like this:
DB Name: Feeds
Tables:
- Products – contains all product based information
- Tariffs – contains mobile phone tariff information
- Deals – contains the actual deals information
- Gifts – contains specific free gift information
*Requirements
I need to update the Data Feed Data base with several new requirements:
Req. 1:
Add the following new fields to the Deals table in the Feeds Database
- Tariff Name
- Tariff Minutes
- Tariff Texts
- Tariff Data
- Tariff Type
- Network Name
Req. 2:
Update the Data Feeds script to populate these new fields from the automated data feed. I believe you’ll find the mappings scripts within a file called [login to view URL] located on my server.
*Bidding:
