Our SEW DHR21B card used to exchange data in both directions with an Omron CJ2M-CPU33, but since the drive was reset to factory settings the PLC can only read; every write attempt is ignored even though no error messages appear on either side. I can connect through both MOVITOOLS and CX-Programmer / Network Configurator, and I’ve already gone through the obvious network parameters yet I’m still not fully confident they match on both ends. Remote access to the on-site PC (and therefore to the live hardware) is ready whenever you need it for tracing, packet captures or online edits. What I need from you is a clear diagnosis of why the outbound data from the PLC is no longer being accepted by the drive, plus the corrections implemented and documented so the link returns to full cyclic read/write operation. If new parameters, object mappings or network settings must be changed, please note them so we can archive the working configuration afterward. Ideally we wrap this up in a remote session, test writing a few words or bits to prove it, and call it done.

As a seasoned Electrical Engineer with a Master's in Embedded Systems, I have the perfect blend of skills and expertise to tackle your SEW-Omron PLC communication issue. My deep understanding of microcontrollers, firmware development, and PCB design will be invaluable in diagnosing why the outbound data from the PLC is no longer accepted by the drive. Throughout my career, I have been hired to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions. I'm not one to shy away from challenges. Instead, I dive deep into the problem until a well-documented solution is formulated. And that's exactly what I'll bring to this task – a methodical approach to isolate and resolve the communication problem whilst ensuring every aspect of the network parameters are aligned between both ends. Additionally, with remote access granted to your on-site PC, we can save time and resources by efficiently carrying out diagnostics, packet captures, online edits or any other required activity. Rest assured, my aim is to restore full cyclic read/write operation so that you can get back to efficient operations once more. Being customer satisfaction-oriented, I am focused on providing practical solutions with clear documentation allowing you to archive the working configuration for future reference. Let's wrap it up in a remote session by testing few words or bits together and call it done at your convenience!

I’ll diagnose the broken bidirectional link between your SEW DHR21B and the Omron CJ2M-CPU33, where the PLC can read but outbound writes are ignored after the drive was factory-reset. I’ll verify both sides’ network identity and communication settings using MOVITOOLS and CX-Programmer/Network Configurator, then trace the exact failure point with remote, live hardware access for packet capture and online inspection. You’ll get a clear root-cause explanation (e.g., parameter mismatch, object mapping/pub-sub direction rules, cyclic data ownership, or write permission/state) and the specific corrections implemented. If the fix requires changes to parameters, object mappings, or network settings, I’ll document each updated item so you can archive a confirmed working configuration. Finally, I’ll run a short remote test to write a few bits/words end-to-end to prove cyclic read/write operation is fully restored, and package the results for your records.

Hi, I am interested in helping resolve the communication issue between your SEW DHR21B card and the Omron CJ2M-CPU33 PLC. My background includes industrial automation, PLC integration, industrial Ethernet networks, and commissioning of motion control systems. Based on your description, the issue is likely related to the factory reset restoring default communication parameters, object mappings, or write permissions rather than a hardware fault. I can remotely diagnose the system by reviewing the SEW DHR21B configuration, Omron Network Configurator settings, cyclic I/O mapping, object assignments, and PLC write logic to identify why outbound data is no longer being accepted. My support includes: - Reviewing MOVITOOLS and CX-Programmer/Network Configurator settings - Verifying network parameters, I/O assemblies, and object mappings - Checking cyclic read/write configuration and drive control word assignments - Implementing the required parameter changes - Performing live testing to verify successful PLC write operations - Documenting all configuration changes and providing a backup of the working settings for future reference I am available to start immediately and look forward to helping you resolve the issue quickly. Best regards,

I understand that your SEW DHR21B card is struggling to write data after a reset, which can be frustrating. I can help diagnose why the PLC isn’t performing as expected. I have experience with signal processing and technical documentation, ensuring that any new configurations will be clearly outlined for future reference. Plus, I can assist with remote access for diagnostics, ensuring that we can tackle this problem efficiently. With your remote access ready, we can track down the communication block. It’s essential that we confirm the network parameters match correctly at both ends. After identifying the issue, I will help implement any necessary adjustments and document them thoroughly. It’s important that we test writing to the PLC to confirm the fix. I will work closely with you to ensure a seamless resolution. What specific settings have you checked so far on both devices? What specific data are you trying to send? Have you made any changes to network settings recently? Are there any other symptoms to consider with this issue?
