Writer/artist needs PR help

I'm a writer and am looking for someone with ideas on how to build my platform and reach more people. I'm currently querying my first book to agents and know it would give me a better chance of working with someone if I had more readers/followers. I've submitted a number of stories to editorials, but so far no luck. I believe one of these reasons is because of subject matter and style. Most of my stories and books are about my madcap adventures in the entertainment industry, and an often numerous look behind the curtain. Ideally I'd like to find someone with outside the box solutions. I feel that some of my stories would be great for certain editorials, but not sure how to shine through the slush they get daily. I also am a solo artist, and have a music video and some new music coming out soon (which I've gotten some great reviews on from local magazines), so maybe there's some way to use those things as well tor each more people. I'm looking for someone to work with for a few months to help build my platform. So we could figure out a payment that I would pay monthly. I was thinking something around $100 a month.
