I've run into both walls on integration work before: Zoom only lets you assign alternative hosts from users on the same paid account, so external trainers can't just get host rights the obvious way, and Teams treats guest or federated users as second-class when it comes to co-organizer permissions, so the workaround has to happen through Graph API meeting policies and role assignment rather than the UI. For the join-before-host piece, that's a straightforward lobby/waiting-room policy change on both platforms, Zoom via the meeting settings API and Teams via the onlineMeeting resource's lobbyBypassSettings. The harder part is giving external trainers usable control without a full host handoff. On Zoom that means scoped alternative-host-like access through co-host promotion mid-meeting via the SDK or API rather than pre-assignment, since alternative host assignment is restricted to internal accounts. On Teams it means using Graph's meeting role assignment against the organizer's tenant since guests can't be granted organizer rights directly, so the practical fix is having the meeting created under an account/group inbox the trainers can act through as presenters with the specific permissions they need. For the Vimeo piece, Teams recordings land in Stream/SharePoint after the call, so the auto-upload has to poll the callRecords or driveItem for the finished recording, then push it to Vimeo through their upload API once processing completes, since there's no native webhook that fires the moment a Teams recording is ready. One clean milestone: harden the join-before-host and trainer access flows on both platforms, wire up the Teams-to-Vimeo auto-upload, and test it end to end with a live meeting on your LMS.
